IPL (SHR) Hair Removal Adelaide

SHR (Super Hair Removal) is a technology that combines Laser hair removal and IPL.

Our clinic can provide a free consultation for this treatment.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

This IPL targets the pigment located in the hair follicle and shaft. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and this energy is converted to heat which results in damage to the hair follicle.

This damage causes delayed re-growth of hair and, in most cases, permanent destruction of many of the hair follicles. The laser used to do this treats hundreds of follicles at a time.

What to Expect Immediately After Treatment:
  • Sensation: A mild sunburn-like sensation or slight warmth in the treated area is normal. This usually resolves within a few hours, but may occasionally persist for up to 2 days.
  • Appearance: Mild redness and/or slight swelling around the hair follicles (perifollicular edema), resembling red bumps or “goosebumps,” may occur but typically dissipates within a couple of hours or a day or two.
  • Hair Shedding: Treated hair will be naturally expelled from the follicle over the next 1 to 4 weeks, which may initially look like stubble or new growth.
